Family Background
My name is Sheng, Hong-yang.  I have three members in my family.  My father is a person with good attitude on doing everything.  For example, if I didn’t do well on exam, he always tells me not to care about it.  Because he has seen that I have done my best and I have good attitude to be faced with exam. Otherwise, he works hard day and night to make our ends meet.  He also advises me not to give up easily, and he wants me to remember a great saying: Where there is a will, there is a way.  It would help me through my lifetime to feel endlessly enjoyable, while I conduct myself in accordance with every words my father has told to me.  My mother is a housewife.  I think that she is a great mother.  She never complains any words when she does many housework.  For instance, she always washes our dirty clothes after we take a bath.  After that, she also washes dishes after we have dinner.  Although she has to do a lot of things everyday, she still does well and never makes mistakes.  I admire her for good responsibility.  I am lucky to have wonderful family.
School Life

I studied at Department of Applied Foreign Languages in National Tainan Vocational Commercial Senior High School.  I was glad to have so nice school and class.  My classmates are humorous and kind.  When I had a hard time doing my homework, they  helped me deal with it.  Furthermore, when I didn’t do well on exams, they couldn't laugh at me.  Instead of laughing, they would encourage me and make me happy. Because of them, I felt that my life in senior high school is colorful.

I had joined basketball club for three years since I was in the NTCVS.  This club not only made me know how to improve my skills but also let me make a lot of friends in NTCVS. Playing basketball is my favorite hobby, and it also teaches me how to keep positive attitude on everything in my daily life.  For example, once we went to play a game with another school, during the game, we lost 10 points when we just only have ten minutes.  However, we still didn’t give up that we do our utmost to beat the rival. At the game’s key time, I got a three points shot and we won the game.  This experience makes me know that never give up and stick to the last second.

Being an English major, I study English everyday.  I  not only studied English books but also did some English-related activities.  For example, I joined the English basketball camp, I did English reports, and I also delivered English speeches.  I believe that the more English I learn, the better future I will have.  By means of doing these things, I think that my English has improved a lot.  However, that is not enough to me.  I want to advance my English ability at University.

I am interested in playing basketball.  Playing basketball not only makes me keep good health but lets me know what sportsmanship and cooperation are.  By means of playing basketball, I also know the importance of team work.  Although there are a lot of difficulties that I have to overcome during practicing playing basketball, I always tell “never give up” to myself.  It really helps me a lot when I have difficulties in everything in my daily life.

Besides playing basketball, I also major in English. I want to improve my English abilities before I go abroad.  Therefore, I can speak with foreigners fluently and I wouldn’t worry about communicating with others.  Otherwise, I believe that as a proverb goes “However stronger you are, there’s always someone stronger."  Hence, I want to play basketball with foreigners oversea.  In order to enhance my English abilities, I will read English magazines, watch English news, and especially write  English composition.  For example, I love reading advanced magazines, watching CNN on TV, etc. But, I am considered that we must achieve a sense of balance in our lives.

Therefore, I enjoy surfing the Net and doing exercise in my leisure time.  For instance, when I am tired that I can't do anything about English homework , I will search the news on English NBA webs or go to play basketball to relax myself. As to my personality, I am a kind, open-minded, and optimistic person.  In my life, my motto influences me the most, which is “keep good attitude on doing everything." 

Future Perspective

With beautiful campus, professional teachers and specific facilities, National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences is an ideal university I have been desired for. I will still choose the department of Foreign language as my major in college, since I am considered that I have a lot of aspects that need to improve in English when I graduate from senior high school.  It also offers all kinds of English-related courses, which will enhance my English ability in deed.  After graduating from college, I may pursue going abroad to advance my speaking ability.  Otherwise, I want to pass the high level in the GEPT test and get 850 points in TOEIC when I study in the college within four years.  The courses offered by this department will attain my expectations, I really hope that I can be admitted to this University.

Conclusion

According to my self introduction, I have prepared to face my new University life.  Therefore, I will catch any chances in my near future,and keep good attitude toward everything.

There are several reasons why Mr.Williams failed on his business.  First of all, the small music store is so far away from the shopping center and it is not conspicuous.  Therefore, it is not easy to find where the small music store is.  Secondly, the kinds of music in the shop was so simple that it was difficult to choose more.  Take me as an example, I like jazz music, but the store only offered hip-hop and rock, so I won't buy anythings in the shop.  In addition, many people would like to do their shopping on the weekends,but the shop only opened on Monday to Friday.  Most importanly, modern people always depend on using credit cards, but Mr.Williams refused to accept the customer to use their credit cards.  Hence, the customer will move to another shop where has credit cards service.  To sum up,  we should think twice when we want to start a business by ourselves.

Playing basketball and volleyball are my extracurricular activities.  In fact, volleyball and basketball are my favoriate sports. They are similar in many ways.  First, We play baketball with hands. Similarly, we play volleyball with our hands.  Secondly, if you have good jump ability, you should be good at playing volleyball.  Likewise, if you have good jump ability, you would play basketball easily that you even could slum dunk.  Third, you should practice your basketball skills everyday.  Without a doubt, you should pracitice more when you play volleyball, too.  Last but not the least, you should keep good attitude playing basketball and volleyball.  In short, volleyball and basketball are both good extracurricular activities, and they bring me a lot of fun.

There is a person whom I'd like to have an interview with, and he is called Zhi-jie-Lin.  He is a famous basketball player in Taiwan and I think I can learn a lot from him.  First of all, I want to ask him how to improve his basketball skills.  Because of his great skills, I think I can know some tips from him.  Secondly, I want to know how he solves problems when he is faced with difficulties.  In fact, playing basketball makes me not only tired but also frustrated.  Therefore, if I have this situation one day, I will solve it easily.  Last but not the least, I want to ask him how to keep good attitude when he do everything.  As a proverb says," Attitude is everything".  However, easier said than done.  I envy him that he can do everything with right attitude, espcially in the basketball game.  To sum up, Zhi-jie-Lin is a person who I have admiration for many reasons.  Moreover, I can learn a lot of things from him.

First of all, the large factory will offer more jobs to people.  Therefore, the economics of growth are of great importance.  On the contrary, the factory will cause pollution.  It will effect the environment of Acton town.  In addition, it will offer more social places because there will be a lot of people moving to the Acton town.  But the Acton town will be more noisy than before.  In short, there are many effects when the new factory open in Acton town.  All we can do is to adapt this envirnoment.

In Taiwan, authorities still use the death penalty as a form of criminal punishment.  In my opinion, I agree with using the death penalty as a form of criminal punishment because it deters people from committing crimes.  However, those who are critical of this idea think that it is harsher to serve a life in prison.  Furthermore, I am on the same page as those who stand up for the death penalty.  The reason is that it makes criminals pay the ultimate price.  But opponents of this idea claim that it sometimes means killing an innocent person.  It is often argued that it is a punishment that cannot be changed.  However, I am in favor of using the death penalty as a form of criminal punishment.  Due to all of these reasons, one must conclude that I insist using the death penalty to punish ex-convict.

Last Firday, I looked for apartments which have comfortable environment and near campus.  There are two apartments on the website, and I chose Fairfax Apartments finally.  They are many differences between two apartment.  First, Fairfax Apartment has two bedroom apt, but CAMPUS APTS has one bedroom apt.  I want to be comfortable and large, so I chose former.  Fairfax Apartment offer air conditioned,neither does CAMPUS APTS.  The reason I will choose former is I am afraid of being hot.

How to Plan Trip-revise

Planing a trip can be very easy.  First, you should choose a destination which you want to go.  For example,if you would like to appreciate snow scenery, you had better go to North America. Furthermore, if you want to go to the Disneyland, you will plan to go to Tokyo.  Then, after you decide your destination, you should choose a date.  For instance,  how about during winter vacation?  Or, when most your friends are free?  After that, you need to check in the rooms in the hotel, airplant tickets, and map.  Finally, the only thing  that you have to do is to wait for the date.  With happy mood, you can enjoy your trip.

There are two important Americans, John Adams and Tomas Jefferson.  Both John and Tomas died in July 4, 1826.  On the one hand, John Adams was important person in the American Revolution.  Similarly, Thomas Jeffereson played important role in American Revolution.  On the other hand, John delegated to theContinental Congress.  Likewise, Thomas also delegated to the Continental Congress.  Moreover, John was signer of Declaration of Independence, and so was Tomas.  They were both U.S. president before.  John studied and practiced law as sams as Tomas did.

I'd Like to Have an Interview with Zhi-jie-Lin

There is a person who I'd like to have an interview with him, called Zhi-jie-Lin.  He is a famous basketball player in Taiwan and I think I can learn a lot from him.  First of all, I want to ask him how to improve his basketball skills.  Because of his great skills, I think I can know some tips from him.  Secondly, I want to know how he solves problems when he is faced with difficulties.  In fact, playing basketball is not only tired but also frustarted.  Therefore, if I have this situation one day, I will solve it easily.  Last but not least, I want to ask him how to keep good attitude when he do everything.  As a proverb says," Attitude is everything".  However, easier said than done.  I envy him that he can do everything with right attitude, espcially in the basketball game.  To sum up, Zhi-jie-Lin is a person who I have admiration for many reasons.  Moreover, I can learn a lot of things from him.

How to Plan Trip

Planing a trip can be very easy.  First, you should choose a destination which you want to go.  For example,if you would like to appreciate snow scenery, you had better go to North America. Furthermore, if you want to go to the Disney Park, you will plan to go to Tokyo.  Then, after you decide your destination, you should choose a date.  How about during winter vacation?  When most your friends are free?  After that, you need to check in the rooms in the hotel, airplant tickets, and locality map.  Finally, you only have to wait the trip is coming and anything is finished.  With happy mood, you can enjoy your trip without anything.

I am going to show that black is a better collector of solar energy than white.  All you need are two tin cans, black and white paint, and room thermometer.  First of all, paint the cans-one black, one white.  Then, fill the cans with water.  After that, put the cans in direct sunlight for three hours.  Finally, check the temperature of the water in the cans and compare.  You will find that the temperature of the water in the black can is higher.  This proves enough that black is a better collector of solar energy than white.

It  is easy to pot a plant if you follow the right procedure.  First of all, cover bottom of pot with small stones.  Secondly, put two inches of soil on top.  Third, make a hole in center of soil.  Then, drop plant into soil.  After that, add soil until it almost reaches top of pot.  Next, press soil down with thumbs.  Finally, water plant.

Last Sunday, I had a wonderful trip which is in my mind forever.  I woke up early as usual.  After I got up, my parents told me that we had a family trip.  I didn't expect it at all because my parents always visit old friends for a family trip.  Hence, I wasn't happy then.  On the way to our destination, I saw a lot of scenery that I had never seen.  After we arrived at the destination, I was surprised.  My parents took us to an amusement park.  I was nothing but excited at that moment.  In the amusement park, the first facility I played was the Roller Coaster.  It made me not only excited but frightened.  Also, I had taken the Spinging Tea Cups.  After I took it, I felt disgusted.  In the amusement park, it was an unforgettable experience.  Although I felt tired after I went home, I still couldn't forget it.  To sum up, I had a wonderful trip last Sunday.  I thought that I would never feel bored when my parents told me that we had a family trip.

However, he wanted to become a famous athlete.  As a result, he practiced running day and night.  Unfortunately, he didn't take a rest until he was sent to the hospital for his broken leg.  Although he was in the hospital, he still wanted to realize his dream.  By means of his patience, he was committed to practice running with one leg.  As the proverb goes, " No pain, no gain."  He defeated all athletes from others countries and won the World Cup Championship finally.  To sum up, the story tells us not to give up when you are faced with many difficulties.
